Team Sierra wins in Sudden Death!
For the first time in over 30 years, New Mexico played host to a Ladies Professional Golf Association tournament featuring legendary players such as Nancy Lopez, Rosie Jones, Kristi Albers and Natalie Gulbis.
The New Mexico Shootout took place at the Sierra Del Rio Golf Course located at the Turtleback Mountain Resort
in Elephant Butte, New Mexico.

In a sudden death final, the Sierra team of Nancy Lopez / Rosie Jones won in sudden death. With a large crowd in attendance, it was a finish all will remember.

In addition to the tournament, Hall of Fame golfer Kathy Whitworth put on a clinic to offer tips for golfers of all ages and skill levels.

The event was a big success for Sierra Del Rio Golf Course / Turtleback Mountain Resort, and the State of New Mexico. Benefits from the New Mexico Shootout were used to being a capital campaign for the local Sierra Vista Hospital. The funds will help build a new facility with state of the art health-care technology.
